Is DATA RECOVERY MORE DIFFICULT ON MAC OR PC?

We have all experienced data loss either from data corruption, hard drive failure or accidental deletion.

This is the reason why we are concerned with data recovery and in your PC and Mac. Data recovery is precisely salvaging and repair of information that has been lost in a device. Some specialists can recover your data from a storage device that you are unable to retrieve by yourself. However, there are times when a system can be too damaged or corrupted to get back the data.

Firstly we need to understand that the method used to recover the data depends on how it was lost. A common way of data loss is through file deletion. It is interesting to note that whenever a file is deleted, it stays in the drive until it is overwritten by another file, therefore, can be recovered using software like Test Disk if you are swift enough to act. Other ways of losing the data are file corruption, file system damage, and file system format and physical drive damage.

Mac has a bigger storage capacity than PCs, therefore, means that it will take a longer time before a file is overwritten in a Mac. Thus, the probability of retrieving a file from long after deletion is higher in Mac than in PCs.

PCs are used by about 90% of businesses in the world while a few people use Macs because they are expensive. Therefore, most hackers target PCs when making malware because there is a bigger population using them. The operating systems of PCs are consequently more vulnerable to damage making recovery of files from them hard.

Macs of since version 10.5 find a better value there is software included with OS X which you only need to update the drive you are using and enable encryption and the machine is in a full system back up; therefore, you can always restore your data even when the drives fail. Thus, data recovery is easier in Macs than in PCs.
